POLYTECH Adult Education
Adults enroll in the nursing assistant program at POLYTECH to start a career in healthcare, earn an entry-level wage of $8 to $14 an hour, and pass the state CNA certification exam. The 182-hour program includes supervised clinical rotations at a local skilled nursing facility. Classes meet Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm for 7 weeks. Applicants must pass a drug screen and obtain required immunizations, and a favorable background check report. A meeting with a career training counselor is also part of the enrollment process. Sussex Tech Adult Education
The nursing assistant certificate program at Sussex Tech prepares students for the state certification exam to become a CNA. The curriculum provides a minimum 150 hours of instruction, including seventy-five hours of classroom and lab training and seventy-five of clinical training at a local healthcare facility. Daytime and evening programs are available. Daytime sessions meet Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm for four weeks.
