STNA Classes Akron, OH

A State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), also referred to as a nurse aide, helps patients with their daily needs under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The profession presents a fast and easy way to enter the healthcare industry. STNAs work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, mental health facilities, home health care, and nursing homes. Since senior or disabled patients may need care 24 hours a day, STNAs often work various shifts to facilitate round the clock care. As a prospective STNA, you must enroll in a state-approved competency and training program to obtain the basic nursing, personal care, and other fundamental skills to take the state test and secure employment as a competitive candidate. The Ohio Department of Health requires education programs to provide at least 75 hours of classroom and clinical instruction.
