CNA Classes Canton, MA

As a Certified Nurse Assistant, you’ll have a vital role in the health care team, caring for elderly or disabled patients. You’ll assist patients with personal hygiene and daily living functions and be responsible for positioning and moving patients, checking and monitoring vitals, monitoring the state of their health, keeping them safe, and maintaining a clean and pleasant environment to support recovery.

The short-term nursing assistant training in Massachusetts will cover 100 hours to 120 hours of theory and clinical rotations to equip you with the skills to take the Nurse Aide Test administered by the American Red Cross. You should also develop skills that will be useful as you function as a part of the health care team in an acute or long-term care facility. The knowledge, skills, and experience gained will also set the stage for advancement through further study. Many CNAs enroll in a practical nursing or registered nursing program to become a licensed nurse.

The health care industry has an urgent need for compassionate and responsible professionals to care for the growing number of seniors in need of long-term care. Nurse assistants should enjoy working with people, be effective communicators, be committed to life long learning, and be able to take directions. The nurse will function within the state-defined role for the profession and will report directly to a licensed practical nurse, registered nurse, or physician.
