Nursing assistants play an active role in direct patient care. They feed and dress patients and assist with other personal hygiene needs. They measure and record temperature, respiration, weight, blood pressure and other vital signs. Nurse assistants often form close relationships with patients due to the amount of time they spend with them on a daily basis.
