CNA Classes Jackson Heights, NY

CNAs provide critical physical and emotional support to patients in nursing homes and hospitals. They work under the direction of licensed nurses and other health care professionals to check and record vital signs, assist patients in and out of bed, turn and position patients, monitor patients’ response to medication and treatment, and prep patients for medical treatment. One of their most important duties is to assist patients with personal care, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting. They are the eyes and ears of nurses. They spend so much time with residents in nursing homes that they form positive and caring relationships with them. A nurse aide’s duties are complex and challenging but extremely rewarding as they have the opportunity to make a positive change in the lives of patients.

The employment outlook for Certified Nurse Assistants is a positive one. According to the United States Department of Labor Statistics, job opportunities are expected to include 11 percent from 2016 to 2026 – a rate that is faster than the average for all occupations. Medical advancements and the rapidly increasing senior population are two primary factors that contribute to the rise in demand. Nurse aide classes in New York prepare adults to meet the need for CNAs in hospitals, home health, and long-term care facilities. Many graduates use the training as a stepping-stone for advanced health care occupations.
