CNA Classes White Plains, NY

CNAs work under the direction of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses to provide quality patient care. They work in nursing homes, home health, or hospitals, helping patients with grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding. A CNA’s duties might include measuring and recording vital signs, bathing, dressing, and feeding, catheter care, monitoring patients’ physical, mental and emotional status, basic housekeeping such as changing bed linens, emptying bedpans, and cleaning rooms, assisting with range of motion exercises, and moving patients from the bed to the wheelchair. CNAs are primary caregivers and may have more contact with patients than any other member of the health care team.

Nursing assistant classes include theoretical and hands-on components to prepare students for this most important role. The Nurse Aide Exam administered by Prometric is the final step to state certification and employment in long-term care facilities. As a prospective nurse aide, you should have a genuine desire to care for patients and help them recover health in a positive and humane manner.
