CNA Classes Sterling Heights, MI

Certified nursing assistants are the heart of the operations of a health care facility. They assist patients with the activities of daily living in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and nursing homes. Their duties vary from one facility to another but typically include bathing and dressing patients, assisting nurses with treatment plans, measuring and recording vital signs, turning and repositioning patients, and most of all, providing much needed emotional support and comfort to patients.

The availability of government funding may impact job availability for nursing assistants in facilities that depend on federal and state support. However, the gradual increase in the senior population will provide opportunities for health care professionals to work in home health and community rehabilitation facilities. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of nursing assistants is projected to grow 8 percent from 2019 to 2029, faster than the average for all occupations.
