CNA Classes Cary Town, NC

A certified nursing assistant cares for patients who are temporarily or permanently unable to care for themselves. The duties of a CNA depend on the healthcare setting and the needs of the patient and must be directed by a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse. While the position may not be the most glamorous on the healthcare team, nurse aides may derive great satisfaction from improving the quality of the lives of the patients they care for. It is a position that offers steady and consistent work as there is a growing demand for healthcare workers.

The short-term nurse aide training provides one of the fastest routes to a career in the health sector. Educational programs can be as short as 5 weeks for 130 contact hours of theory and practical work. CNA training and practice provide a first-hand opportunity to delve into the patient care and test the waters before enrolling in a longer-term program. Moreover, they will increase the chances of acceptance into competitive nursing programs. Most nursing schools in North Carolina require nurse aide certification as a prerequisite for admission. As a certified nursing assistant, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work in diverse environments according to your goals. CNAs work primarily in long-term care, but they also care for patients in hospitals, hospice centers, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and patients’ homes.
